Jitte is one of the forms mentioned in the textbook Taekwondo (1) written by 최홍희 (Choi Hong-hui). More formally part of Karate, the form was omitted from later editions of the textbook, and is consequently no longer learnt by students of Taekwondo.

Many movements form this form are highly identifiable, and they reappear in the modern forms designed by Choi. This form contains the 'w' blocks seen in Toigye, the palm pressing block and 'u' block seen in Junggeun.

The 'u' blocks in this form are intended to defend against a staff.

Interpretation

In Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, this form literally means 'ten hands'.

Korean Date

The date today is,

4349 년 12 월 30 일 (4349, Month 12 Day 30) (25 February 2017 CE)

This is the date according to the traditional lunisolar calendar of Korea. (Note that this is not an authoritative calculation; I’m still working on the details.) The years count back to the legendary founding of Korea by 단군 왕검 (Dan-gun Wanggeom).
