Kūshankū is one of the forms mentioned in the textbook 태권도 (Taekwondo) (1) written by 최홍희 (Choi Hong-hi) (in which it is written as Kouh-shang-kouh). More formally part of Karate, the form was omitted from later editions of the textbook, and is consequently no longer learnt by students of Taekwondo.

Note that the form as described by Choi is subtley different from the form as practised by most students of Karate. There are some additional movements throughout the form, and many of the movements are performed very differently.
