Sometimes written Palgwe Sa Jang, Palgwe Jin.

Interpretation

(jin) is one of the eight trigrams. It represents thunder, and so power and dignity.

This form notably introduces the 편히 서기 (pyeonhi seogi) 'rest stance'.

Notes

  1. The Palgwae forms differ from the Taegeuk and Pumsae forms in many ways. In fact, the Palgwae forms have many similarities to the ITF forms that the Taegeuk and Pumsae forms do not. This means that there are some movements which are ambiguous in their naming: a reverse punch in the ITF style is called an obverse punch in the WTF style. In all of the Palgwae forms articles on this site, the WTF naming conventions will be used.
